Deployment

By 2050, there should be an installed global wind energy capacity of 2,672 GW, according to the Global Wind Energy Council*.

We are rapidly expanding from our development site in Stranraer, South West Scotland.

There is clearly a lot of work to do, but it is our aim to add KPS technology to the energy generation mix.

To help achieve these targets, we have developed a system that can generate clean energy in areas to supplement existing forms of generation, including wind turbines, and that can also be deployed at locations that conventional wind energy cannot access:

Deployment Far Out Sea
IN DEEP WATER

Wind turbines can only be deployed where the water depth is 60m or less

Deployment Altitude
AT HIGHER ALTITUDES

Our system generates electricity at 250m into the air, where the wind is often stronger and less turbulent, and energy easier to harness

Deployment Remote Areas
IN REMOTE AREAS

Due to its transportable nature, our systems can be brought to areas where other generation types cannot be deployed, providing immediate low cost clean energy

Deployment Direction
IN ALL WIND DIRECTIONS

Unlike wind turbines, our systems can alter their path in order to harness energy from whichever direction the wind is blowing

Affordable and deployable technology

Onshore systems:
  • The cost of energy for KPS onshore systems will be lower than conventional fossil fuel generation plants
  • The KPS onshore solution provides an affordable technology that can be deployed throughout the world for on and off grid applications
Offshore systems:
  • We will be able to deploy our technology in waters deeper than 60m, opening up global deep-water markets that are currently untouched by conventional offshore wind. South Korea and Japan are amongst many new market opportunities
  • The requirement for government subsidies could be removed: the cost of energy for the KPS offshore arrays should be significantly lower than the best projections for conventional offshore wind turbines
  • The technology can be further scaled – ratings of 3MW+ will be achievable
